  • Can I get a load in the same area where I deliver? (Horizon calls this a re-load)
Professional driveraway contractors face an inherent deadhead leg between trips because origin and destination points are many and varied. The best companies are the ones who find the most loads nationwide and provide the best customer service. At this time we do not measure deadhead miles, however we do have many re-load opportunities. We have established long term relationships with many accounts nationwide providing loads everyday of the year. Mileage pay will vary from one re-load customer to another. The pay variances are base rates we generate from our shippers. Horizon has a long standing track record of paying the driver as high a percentage as we can, based on the rates we generate. Horizon operates a national reload dispatch board for driveaway contractors, reducing their overall deadhead.
